Before Closing Day

  • Confirm which utilities serve the property (electric, gas, water/sewer or well/septic)
  • Schedule transfers for closing day or the day before possession
  • Ask your closing team which accounts the seller will cancel

Day-One Transfers

  • Electric and gas: start service in your name effective possession date
  • Water/sewer: contact municipal provider or township billing office
  • Trash & recycling: verify cart delivery and pickup schedule
