Originally from Tampa, Florida, Derica has spent most of her adult life rooted in the Metro Detroit community. Before real estate, she spent approximately 16 years in the travel industry specializing in destination weddings and honeymoons, work built entirely on trust at life's most important moments. From there, 14-15 years in fitness coaching, focused especially on building confidence in women.

Licensed in 2019, Derica grew quickly enough that within a year and a half, her broker invited her to build a team. Hearts to Homes was born, and it was never about Derica. It was always about the mission.

She is bold, blunt, and unapologetically honest. She will tell you when a house isn't right for you. She will fight at the negotiating table. She will show up at a bad inspection and say "no, your home is out there, and we're going to find it." And she will do all of it with love.

Shelley Ball

With a heart for helping people and a deep understanding of what "home" truly means, Shelley brings warmth, integrity, and real-life experience to the Hearts to Homes Team.

Originally from Westland, she spent nearly 20 years in Oakland County's lakes area before returning home to Westland, where she has lived for the past 15 years with her husband Larry, their family, and their beloved rescue dog, Buddy.

Before beginning her real estate career, Shelley built a professional background rooted in both service and advocacy. She worked in retail management for over a decade, spent 10 years as a residential appraiser, where her love for real estate first began, and has dedicated the past 15 years to healthcare as a certified medical coder and biller. Throughout every chapter of her career, one thing remained consistent: helping people work through important life decisions with honesty, patience, and care.

Her previous experience as an appraiser gave her a unique perspective on the housing industry and strengthened her commitment to doing what is right for clients, even when faced with difficult situations. She believes integrity should always come before simply "making a deal happen."

Known for her relaxed, approachable communication style, Shelley wants every client to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring possibilities, and moving at a pace that feels right for them. She especially connects with first-time home buyers and families who may feel discouraged by financial challenges or uncertain where to begin, because she understands firsthand how emotional and overwhelming the journey can sometimes feel.

When she's not helping clients, she enjoys reading, working in her yard, dance fitness, classical music, and spending time with the Bodies By Wade / Get Fit with Brit community that has become such an important part of her life both mentally and physically.

Her goal is simple: to help others experience the same joy and comfort that comes with finally feeling "home."
